It is run through the press just once thus avoiding excessive heat. There may be some residue in bottom of the bottle which is an indication that is first pressed and not filtered out. We found this is the most effective form of oil. The residue can be eliminated by heating the bottle in hot water, it just melts away. It also disappears once you apply to skin.
